Product Description

Methanol, also known as hydroxymethane, wood alcohol or wood spirits, is an organic compound and the simplest saturated monohydric alcohol with the chemical formula CH3OH/CH4O. The molecular weight is 32.04 and the boiling point is 64.7°C. Methanol is known as "wood alcohol" and "wood alcohol" because its main production method was extraction from wood vinegar (one of the products of wood distillation or cracking). Modern methanol is produced directly from carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen in a catalytic industrial process. Methanol is light, volatile, colorless, flammable, and has an odor very similar to ethanol (drinking alcohol). But unlike ethanol, methanol is highly toxic and should not be consumed. Ethanol is usually used as a solvent, antifreeze, fuel or denaturant, and can also be used to produce biodiesel through transesterification reaction.
