Dimethylacetamide, the full name is N,N-dimethylacetamide (chemical formula: CH3C(O)N(CH3)2, abbreviated as DMAC or DMA. A commonly used aprotic polar solvent. Colorless Transparent liquid, flammable. Can be mixed with water, alcohol, ether, ester, benzene, chloroform and aromatic compounds and other organic solvents. Used in pharmaceuticals, synthetic resins, and also used as a solvent for polyacrylonitrile spinning and from carbon Eight-fraction extraction distillation solvent for styrene separation, etc. It is prepared by the interaction between dimethylamine and acetyl chloride.

Product application

 

1. It is used as a raw material for synthetic fibers and an excellent polar solvent for organic synthesis; for organic synthesis, it is also used as a solvent, catalyst and paint remover.

2. DMAC is mainly used as a solvent for synthetic fibers (acrylonitrile) and polyurethane spinning and synthetic polyamide resins, and is also used as an extractive distillation solvent for separating styrene from C8 fractions, and is widely used in polymer films; coatings and pharmaceuticals etc. At present, it is widely used in medicine and pesticide to synthesize antibiotics and pesticides.

3. Can be used as catalyst for reaction; electrolytic solvent; paint scavenger and various crystalline solvent adducts and complexes.

4. Used as solvent, paint remover, catalyst and for organic synthesis.
