Formic acid is one of the basic organic chemical raw materials and is widely used in pesticides, leather, dyes, pharmaceuticals, rubber and other industries. Formic acid can be directly used in fabric processing, tanning, textile printing and dyeing, and green feed storage. It can also be used as a metal surface treatment agent, rubber additive, and industrial solvent. It is used in the synthesis of various formate esters, acridine dyes and formamide series pharmaceutical intermediates in organic synthesis. The specific categories are as follows:
1. Pharmaceutical industry: It can be used for the processing of caffeine, metamizole, aminopyrine, aminophylline, theobromine borneol, vitamin B1, metronidazole and mebendazole.

2. Pesticide industry: It can be used for the processing of triazole, triadimefon, tricyclazole, triazole, triazophos, paclobutrazol, uniconazole, insecticidal ether and dicofol.

3. Chemical industry: Raw materials for manufacturing various formates, formamide, pentaerythritol, neopentyl glycol, epoxidized soybean oil, epoxidized octyl soybean oleate, pivaloyl chloride, paint stripper, and phenolic resin.

4. Leather industry: used as tanning agent, deliming agent and neutralizing agent for leather.

5. Rubber industry: used in the processing of natural rubber coagulants and the manufacture of rubber antioxidants.

6. Preparation of CO in the laboratory. 

7. Determination of cerium, rhenium and tungsten. Test for aromatic primary amines, secondary amines, and methoxy groups. Determine the relative molecular mass and crystallization solvent methoxyl groups. Used as a fixative in microscopic analysis.

8. Formic acid and its aqueous solution can dissolve many metals, metal oxides, hydroxides and salts. The generated formate can be dissolved in water and can therefore be used as a chemical cleaning agent. Formic acid does not contain chloride ions and can be used for cleaning equipment containing stainless steel materials.

9. Used to prepare apple, papaya, jackfruit, bread, cheese, cheese, cream and other edible flavors as well as whiskey and rum flavors. The concentration in the final flavored food is approximately 1~18 mg/kg 

10. Others: It can also manufacture printing and dyeing mordants, fiber and paper dyes, treatment agents, plasticizers, food preservation, animal feed additives and reducing agents, etc.
